Alton Marina

Sept 23rd, we moved on down to Alton Marina , just north of St. Louis,MO. The Illinois River joins the Mississippi  and it was epic! Swift current, large logs lots of history.
The shoreline was rock that has been carved over the centuries. Large homes on the cliffs were tucked in just barely visible from the water.

Finally saw bridge come into sight.

Several loopers were already here and we had a blast hanging out with them. The dock was fun too. Locals string lights, set up chairs, cook out stuff, even an outdoor bar! Fun boat people. Even had big garage shop fan to keep things cool.

The Marina over all was really nice. Pool, hot Tubs,  and picnic area to gather and visit

Several great meals in town, best was Tony’s.  The whole loop group shared fantastic steaks!

Next morning, they all headed down stream. We headed to the airport to return home to take care of medical issues. Leaving boat in good hands with Alton friends in next slip watching over my 2 plants while we are gone.
